Icelandic Magical Staves - Intensive Course (Begins March 3rd 2025) - Early Bird Price

This intensive 3 week course gives a deep insight into the uses and methods of Icelandic magical staves. Galdrastafir have long been a mysterious subject, hidden away in old manuscripts and forgotten behind the more common threads of Nordic magic such as the Elder Futhark.

In this intensive course we will discover countless staves. Speak on the ways to use them, both traditional and contemporary. We will discuss staves as tattoos, staves on tools, staves for the home, for love, protection, conjuring and so much more.

This course will include 3 live zoom classes, altogether 12 hours of video footage dissecting and discussing staves from manuscripts found throughout Iceland as well as the contemporary methods we might employ to use them.

We will discuss the theory behind these staves, the reasons for their material components, why blood is used to empower them, and alternatives for those who don't wish to use blood.

Students will learn how to create their own staves, inspired by the many we will discuss. As well as learn of the many alphabets we may use for specific workings and staves, code writing and more of the many aspects that make up this part of Icelandic galdur.

We will discuss famous staves such as:

- Ægishjálmur
- Vegvísir
- Hulinhjálmur
- Þórshamar
- Heillhringur

And many many more.

This is an intensive course that consists of three live classes, one each week. The first introducing staves, their history and use in the past and present. The second, a grimoire of the most famous/infamous staves, their use and history. The third, an in-depth class on creating your own staves, expanding on the knowledge you've acquired throughout the previous 2 weeks and watching the pre-recorded material.

The course material will be available to watch and re-watch for 3 months after the course concludes (June 2025).
